Meet Jenny & Dave

Hi, we’re Jenny & Dave, the husband-and-wife team behind Willow & Wag.

We live in New Alresford with our two young boys and feel incredibly lucky to be building a local family business around something we both love… animals, the outdoors and the beautiful Hampshire countryside we call home.

Willow & Wag began with Jenny following her lifelong dream of working with animals. What started as a local dog walking service has grown into a busy pet care business, looking after dogs and pets across New Alresford and the surrounding villages.

As Willow & Wag has grown, we’ve made the exciting decision for Dave to join the business too.

Becoming a husband-and-wife team means we can offer greater availability, welcome more local pets into the Willow & Wag family and continue growing our services, while still providing the friendly, personal care that has been at the heart of Willow & Wag from the beginning.

🐶 Meet Jenny

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and working with them is something I wanted to do from a young age.

I grew up in the Hampshire countryside surrounded by animals and went on to study for a National Diploma in Animal Management at Sparsholt College.

My course gave me experience with a wide variety of animals as well as time spent in environments including a veterinary practice, kennels and dog grooming.

Life took me in a different direction for a while, but my love of animals never went away. After having our two boys, I knew I wanted to build a career that allowed me to spend my days outdoors, work with animals and create something that could grow around our family.

And so, Willow & Wag was born.

What started with a few local dog walks has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. I now spend my days walking some wonderful dogs around the countryside and caring for all kinds of pets… from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and even larger animals.

For me, one of the loveliest parts of Willow & Wag is building a genuine relationship with each animal I care for. Getting to know their individual personalities, earning their trust and seeing an initially nervous or unsure dog become excited to see me is incredibly rewarding.

🌿 Jenny’s Role at Willow & Wag

Jenny continues to look after our established regular dog walks and oversees the day-to-day running of Willow & Wag.

Her Animal Management background and experience with a wide variety of animals also sit at the heart of our approach to providing calm, individual and reliable care.

🐕 Meet Dave

Alresford has always been home for Dave.

He was born and raised here and has lived in Alresford all his life, so he knows the town, surrounding villages and local countryside incredibly well.

Dogs have also always been part of his life. Dave grew up with dogs in his family home and understands just how much a pet becomes part of the family.

After seeing Willow & Wag grow and getting to know many of the dogs and pets that have become part of our lives through the business, Dave has now made the exciting decision to join Willow & Wag.

Having Dave join means we can offer our clients greater flexibility and availability, welcome new pets into the Willow & Wag family and continue expanding the pet care services we can provide.

🏡 Dave’s Role at Willow & Wag

While Jenny continues to focus on our established regular dog walks, Dave will be helping us welcome new clients and taking a larger role in our pet sitting and wider pet care services.

Most importantly, having both of us within Willow & Wag means we’re still able to keep the business small and personal.

You’ll know who is looking after your pet, and we’ll take the time to make sure both you and your animals feel completely comfortable with us.

To us, pets aren’t simply animals we look after… they’re part of the family.

We know how much trust it takes to hand over your dog’s lead or give someone the keys to your home and ask them to care for the animals you love.

That’s why we want every Willow & Wag client to feel confident knowing their pets are being cared for by people who genuinely take the time to get to know them.

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

An energetic young dog may want a countryside adventure full of running, sniffing and exploring, while an older dog might prefer a gentle wander at their own pace. A confident cat might be waiting at the door for cuddles, while another may be happiest watching us cautiously from across the room.

We adapt our care to them.

Before we begin caring for any new pet, we’ll arrange a Meet & Greet so we can learn about their personality, routine, likes, dislikes and individual needs… and so you can get to know us too.
